Winchester 6.5 creed issue/Ruger American

Buddy of mine was shooting his rifle and had a situation that raised some concern. All factory ammo. He was shooting a 3 shot group and on the 3rd shot he noticed smoke coming from the bolt/breech area.

There was no indication of any issue on the previous 2 shots.

The bolt would not allow him to kick out the spent round. He had to take a rod and tap it with a hammer to get it out.

Since it's factory WW, I would contact WW with your situation and have ALL the info that is on the box. Mainly the lot # , and anything else that can ID your ammo.

Yeah he’s done that.
I think they wanted pictures.

I have 4 boxes of the same ammo/caliber.
Kind of concerned about it now.

Overpressure blown primer . This is why we wear eye protection . Years ago had one blow in an 03 Springfield , piece of primer hit me just below left eye . 50 yrs later still got the scar . 03 action don't handle stray gas worth a damn .

Factory Rifle? Factory chamber? He should check overall length to lands. A little etching on the bolt won’t hurt. It happens
