I've yet to buy any suppressors but have interest in it. Who are some of the big names in Suppressor Companies?
SilencerCo and Dead Air make up 77% of the market share and are the two best manufactures IMHO
followed by Rugged and TBAC

So... if this law passes, will it then be legal to make your own suppressor, if you don't sell it to anyone, the way you can make your own gun?
Correct, and I’ve happily purchased two more suppressors in that time. While the waiters will keep on waiting...The question was asked when this thread was started 1.5 years ago and it doesn't look like we're any closer to suppressors not being an NFA item!

Yep.Money's tight with one son in college. My interest in a suppressor is for my 11 year old, he's doesn't like loud noises. Flinches with gun shots even wearing headphones for hearing protection. So is it $200 for a stamp every time you buy a suppressor?

On a form 1 it's my understanding if you buy a threaded adapter to make your own suppressor only the threaded portion needs to be nfa approved? Would give more leniency on what you can do for different calibers for the same threaded adapter......
