They kept flying by so I tried to shoot them on the fly. 2 crows, 2 shots no luck. I know 0 about shooting at moving targets with a shotgun. Using 410 ou with #6. Full, mod chokes. 25-35 yards maybe?
Do I need to lead them? How much? Need to watch some videos I guess. 410 may not be the best choice. It's aggravating cause I know I can zap em if still, landed.

Probably wasting your time and ammo with the 410 unless they are so close you can spit on them. At 25-35 yards they are laughing at you. .

Crows are tough MF'ers... yes, just like any moving target some lead is required.

12ga with high-brass #5... that's what you want to bring em down at 35 yards.

Crows are as big as some small ducks. No one hunts them with a .410.

Perhaps if you are shooting tungsten.410 it might be viable but then it’s cost prohibitive.

Gotta learn to lead them. The faster they flying and farther away they are the more you lead. Swing through. Trap and skeet good practice.

Landfill out 41 near the interstate spiked the crow and buzzard population

You need a bigger gun... 12 gauge, modified choke, #4 hipower pheasant loads will do the job. You will need to lead them. Get some practice on clays to learn deflection shooting and you will be knocking them down. Crows are as tough as pheasants so you have to hit them solid.

Got one first time out with the 410. Perched in the top of a pine.( over 25) Stationary. So the gun does have reach. #6 2 1/2 full choke. No call, stalk.
The pattern may be too small, light for my skill level on the fly. I have 12 and 20. But it makes it more challenging which I do like. Was using mini phantom caller with crow chip. Today Used excited crow and crow distress calls. I have crow decoys, but cant find em. Camoed today sitting under a pine.

Skeets are 21 yards out and a .410 will make dust outta them if your on. I might try LM/Mod or Mod/IMod...not sure what you have available

It has always been my understanding that #6 from a .410 is same velocity an power as out of 12ga. Just less of it. Bigger bore more shot not more power?
