50 cents each for that 7.62X51 huh ?? Does it have the NATO head stamp ?? That's damn near as cheap as toothpicks. My HK91 would absolutely love that. --- SAWMAN

No NATO head stamp (Israel is not a NATO country, and it wasn't produced for a NATO contract), that's why I didn't list it as 7.62 NATO. 50 cents each is approximately what I have in it. Mixed head stamps; fine for plinking; good brass for reloading. I've fired about a thousand rounds of it so far.

All .308 and the 500rd pack of .223 has been sold pending funds.

Nate, I've already sold 500rd of .308 prior to your post...I'll count what's left. Estimate there's a thousand rounds left...will count it this afternoon.

Prices lowered...thermal sight ordered, and I still have a couple of thousand dollars left to raise. 7.62x39 was $180/500rd case, now $150/500rd case. 30/06 was $180/ham can, now $160/ham can.

Is that 30-06 safe for Garands?

To the best of my knowledge and belief, it is fine for Garands. I base that upon the fact that CMP obtained it from Greece along with the Garands (and Springfield 1903's) that were returned to US Army control and turned over to CMP to sell. That was an awkward sentence; let me try again. CMP got the ammo from Greece after the Garands and 1903's were returned to US Army control and sent to CMP to sell, and Greece no longer had a use for it. That ammo was what Greece was using in those rifles. Winchester sold the equipment to make the 30/06 military ammo to Greece, thus the rounds are boxer primed and use ball powder. CMP used to sell Greek 30/06 in Garand clips, but sold out of that type of packaging. In my social group of shooters, several of us have used the Greek ammo with no problems noted. I understand your question, as some 30/06 has been loaded with slower burning powder which could cause excessive pressure at the Garand gas port and bend the operating rod.

IF ANYONE HAS ANY ADDITIONAL INFO ON THE GREEK 30/06, PLEASE POST SO WE CAN ALL BE INFORMED. Thank you.

Daezee, that answer and info was way more than I expected, so thank you. I'm seriously just thinking of buying some ammo for my garand as that was the only reason I wanted to get rid of it in the first place. You seriously need to stop taking all my money! Let me see if I can scrounge up some more money.

I just had a thought...I did an Internet search for "greek ammo safe for garand". Found no bad effects (blow ups, split cases, failures to fire) reported in the links I read and stopped further looking. One person said to sort by headstamp, but all mine are in sealed cans, so they would be the same headstamp in the can. Found one failure to fully chamber (possibly not the ammo's fault) reported. Found reports of thousands of rounds fired with no problems. Found reports that accuracy may vary by lot/YOUR rifle combination (now that's true of any ammo and rifle combination). One report of it's full military powered ammo.

Anyway, I would urge anyone to do an Internet search before buying and read what others have posted.

Ben, If you want, we can open a can and shoot a few to test the functioning in your M1. I thought I had some loose rounds from the last can I opened we could shoot, but haven't found it. I have 9 cans left and wasn't going to sell it all anyway. In fact, we could mix in some non corrosive USGI ball to see if the recoil seems the same between them...I believe I have some RA and LC ball.

I have shot thousands of rounds of the HXP US30 cal in several M-1s without a single issue, they were dated 62 but smelled factory fresh upon opening the can. This ammo is not only safe for M-1s it is more accurate and about 150 fps faster than the USGI LC they were selling around the same time.

I wouldn't sell mine for what Bruce is asking for his, great deal !!!

I've noticed that some ammo prices have come down...this is good. I can come down a little.

    500rd cases of 7.62x39 are now $140 (was $150).
    1000rd cases of Wolf .223, 62gr or 55gr are now $300 (was $320)
Ham cans of 30/06 are now $150 (was $160).

If you bought some before at the older price and buy more, the difference between the older price you paid before and the new price will be refunded to you. Have a great weekend.
