They are crazy loud but the fireballs are a thing of beauty.

I get the "build it" part but to me, buffer tube means bad trade offs in overall length vs barrel length and velocity. Range toy & SBRish, okay. Do you really need cheek contact with your choice of optics/sights/laser?

The velocity loss is the biggest sacrifice. The fireball is some of the unburned powder, shoot over snow and you will see the rest. Velocity is about the only thing that makes the 5.56 a good round. If velocity is important in your selection check the ballistic tables/ballistics by the inch. Exaple: 223 @ 16 inches is 500+- fps faster then a 10 which is 500+-fps faster then a 6 inch. Thats almost a 1/3 loss with a light bullet. This is why I say length should be in the barrel not a buffer tube.

My truck gun is a Sig P556Swat. 21 inches, 10.5 barrel, gas piston, no tube. Sig has a variant with a folding Sig brace. I use a old large objective red dot that co-witness the irons single point sling provides a steady anchor.

    Good luck with your project.

Nice! You'll love it. And I think I'll get to keep mine after all.

The buffer tube for it is totally worth it! Solid as a rock. No movement whatsoever

Still researching the muzzle device, leaning towards the noveske kx5 or dynacomp.

KAK and Kinteti Tech also make a similar product to the Noveske,
Kaw Valley also makes a really nice comp

If less than 11.5", I'd say KX style or some type of linear compensator. Looking good!

I had a kinetitech on another AR and it seemed to work really well. If the diameter is not too wide I may go with another one.

Looking good! I assembled my first lower yesterday and it seems addicting. This morning I removed the gas block from a pistol I already have and am looking into getting a rail for it to replace the hand guard that is on it.

    That's pretty sharp Justin.

If I could find a law tactical for a deal I'd buy one, but they're a bit too steep for me.
