    Happy Friday, everyone!
    Happy Friday as well!
On the way home from the ERGC meeting last night my truck started making a loud clicking sound. After going thru a few things till 2230 last night I still don't know what it is. I'm trying to be good and not buy a newer one.

Just got a new (2017) Tundra. It has the TRD Off Road package and rides even better than my '14.

What year/make/model/engine truck? I can probably help you diagnosis the problem. If it's a Ford 5.4L between the years 2004-2012 probably cam phasers, chevy/gmc 5.3L between 2007 and 2014 probably a valve train issue, bad lifters or bad camshaft.

It's an '06 4wd silverado and the clicking sound is coming from under the truck towards the rear while driving. Truck doesn't seem to handle different or have any power issues, just the loud clicking.

    Could be a U-joint.
Picked a couple up last week when i first heard it. That's my Saturday morning project unfortunately and while breaking down the rear drums I found a leaking brake piston.

You will need a special tool to hold the U-shaped hold down spring to change the rear shoes on chevy drum brakesit can be done without the tool but you will be saying a lot of cuss words if you don't have the tool.

I usually rely on my bro-in-law for this kinda stuff, he's the mechanic in the family with all the "special" tools.
