Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away and a long time ago, as I was nearing the end of an enlistment, I was offered $50K to go shoot Skinnies in President Patrice Lumumba's little bit of hell called the Congo. At the time I was making about $3K a year so the idea was very tempting. However upon serious consideration and without a trustworthy shadow on my 6:00 I decided that their reputation of paying off in lead was not worth the adventure.
