Full disclosure:
For those interested in this pistol, be advised that I had to return it to Ruger for repair. After inserting the magazine, followed by pressing the mag release button, I discovered that the magazine would not drop free – it had to be pulled out of the mag well. I contacted Ruger's customer service and they authorized the return of the pistol for repair. I'll post again once it has been returned to me. Yes, I will still consider it new and unfired with the exception of the test rounds fired by the factory.
