Rifles without receivers! Remington 41 Targetmaster

Wanted to share these obscure darlings. These are Remington 41 Targetmasters, which are some old manually cooked bolt action 22s from the 30s up until the 60s amazingly. I think what makes these particularly interesting is there is no receiver; the whole entirety of the gun is barrel with the action milled into the back of it. Makes for a really cool, sleek rifle - even though it is VERY heavy for a single shot 22 lol. I'm not aware of any other bolt action rifles with similar construction, but please share if you know! Cheers to the fine members who I had the pleasure of meeting with over these two.

Had to go look again but appears the Win 67 from the same era is built about the same. Have never shot it but guess I’m going to have to tomorrow just to see what it will do. May as well get out the AR-10 also.

Thanks for sharing, thats a handsome rifle! The way the cooking knob assembly, trigger guard, and stock screw are set up looks very similar to the Remy.
