I looked but did not see anything posted recently for pistol braces...So-
    Googled and found:
Bottom line up front, pistol braces are legal again based on a Fifth Circuit Court ruling.

I would advise a little caution here. My take would be to use braces that the ATF had previously given the manufacturer a letter stating that it was a brace. Point is to make sure what you put on your pistol is 'legally' a brace. Sawed off rifles an shotguns are still technically illegal. I would within reason stay close to the original specification and scoring of the now defunct 4999 worksheet.
None of this will normally be important unless there is some reason that the feds have a specific reason to come after you.
Specifically in self defense you shoot someone that attracts a lot of media attention.
We expect this new ATF rule to be nullified on the basis of the ATF not following correct process in formulating this rule change. If that happens they have the option of rewriting it. If SCOTUS finds it unconstitutional, then it goes away forever.
