Yessir, mine too. That, of course, was based on a time when men wore, usually, leather shoes and work boots without the huge selection and number of styles available today. If you didn't take time to polish and do maintenance on your footwear you were considered slovenly. Nowadays there is so many choices and the average person has a fairly large collection in their closet. With the relative cost of shoes today we tend to chunk them when they get a bit worn.
My dad's pet peeve, for some reason, is white Tennis shoes. He finds them appalling. LOL.
