Could someone lead me to a reputable gunsmith in the NW Pensacola area.
I'd like to get mainly the starting bits of rust on the barrel treated, and a good overall semi-resto
Ok, ruger said if I sent it in to get refurbished they would have to do the safety upgrade where they add the transfer bar to the hammer. I would not like that done (strangely enough because it's a safety upgrade), so I'm on the hunt for a smitty once again
Good place to start ---> Call Pensacola Lock and Gun and ask for Rick Rankin. Go in and talk to HIM. Have in mind what you want the outcome of the gun to be. It will be expensive but most of the work can be done in stages.
If the gun does not have a whole bunch of sentimental value you may find that the time and the price is not worth it. This, depending on what you want the final outcome to be.
Caution --> If you are thinking, have it restored then sell it for a whole bunch of profit ....... NOT gonna happen. Good Luck --- SAWMAN
Thanks for the info, and the advice.. This one is a keeper for me, so I'm not looking to turn a buck. I just want it to last
Restore may be an overstatement,
