Was practicing using the sling for a more steady firing position and the cheap pot metal could not even handle moderate pressure applied.

ARMSTAC brand on Amazon for $8 bucks. It had good reviews but I'm giving it a thumbs down.

Well that's what $8 worth of sling will get ya. I assume the clip is sewn in so no chance of just changing out the clips?
FWIW, I use the WOTG Proctor sling, simple nylon strap and paracord. He also sells them with qd mounts.

I'm using the original style and love it. I converted a couple of my BFG slings to attach the same way.

It seems "too simple" at first but it works really well. I don't have the qd mounts, didn't really see a need for em. I prefer 2 point slings anyway.

    Yes clip is sewn own.

I like the idea of the paracord attachment as the QD probably has a tendency to do just that and quick detach itself when least expected!

I'll check out the Procter. Thanks for the recommendation.

I learned that lesson a few years ago, well a long time ago, before internet, and try to tell people that when doing a class, but some people, think the u-tube is the way to go. have a couple of things here now that people tried to fix from u-tube and has made it harder to repair, the young just don't want learn from the old. we don't know any thing. Just my 50 cents jj
