Went hunting for the first time with my in laws this past weekend up in Alabama, and had a blast.
I’m currently stationed Pensacola, and would like to get into deer hunting.
I am by all means a city boy. I’ve been doing research on doing the hunter certification course.
If you have any advice, places to go, want a tag along please let me know.
    Thanks

Maybe hit us up "after" you've completed your Hunter Safety Course.
Not saying you aren't firearm safe, I mean you're a soldier, right. But it is the law.
I think your military background may/will cover most if not all of the requirements, not sure, at least
the "hands-on" portion, and the written part can be done online.
I was grandfathered in. You know, Old Skool knowledge. :)
g/l, and thank you for your service.

What do you like hunting with? Rifle or bow or something else? Do you prefer to stalk or sit in a blind/ stand?

I know quite a few people (especially military) hunt the base land out by Eglin.

    Rifle
Stalking was more fun but sitting in the tree stands was quite serene.
I was cruising the internet about hunting at Eglin and the few things I found described a lot of guys hunting with dogs.

You will have take hunter safety course that is like 6 hours long but most of it is all common since buddy, can be taken online or sometimes they will have class near you. I would look into blackwater as well as Eglin hunting plenty of options. Plenty of hunting opportunities deer, squirell, duck, wild hog, coyote etc. Thanks for your service and happy hunting brother. Not sure this is allowed but here is a hunter safety course. https://www.hunter-ed.com/florida/?campaignid=73723699&adgroupid=2443584259&keyword=hunter safety course florida&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiA4smsBhAEEiwAO6DEjQjJhYUHQqNLmu82vE5xm2UwAC_GTM55GO7EFCc8lulymW600L6qghoCGnUQAvD_BwE
