6:50 AM - took this guy this morning in heavy fog at about 175 yards.
had been watching about 9 deer in a group and he was on the outside all the time , not big but fills the freezer and is #5 for the year.
Fog hunting sucks. without stabilized Cannon Binoculars I would have never seen any antler and couldn't tell you if he was an 8 point when I squeezed the Tikka's 16 OZ trigger after barely finding him again in my Leopold scope. [ not a Leopold fan ] drove home in the fog at 7:30 , deer meat in Ice by 9:15 and dogs fighting over the carcass by 9:30 .
anyway the exit wound was impressive and the reason for the photo.
this is the most dramatic exit wound so far from the 130 grn 270 win Ballistic tips I use.
some people like them and some do not.
