How smooth is the action on it? Barrel length?

Barrel length is about 23.5 inches. I'd call the action good, smooth, tight. This gun appears to have not been shot much. I got it after my Dad passed in 2004. He got from an aunt after his brother passed (along with other guns). He had a lawnmower business and occasionally had been paid with guns. I shot it twice, it was dead on and it did not kick as much as I was expecting. I just put it in the safe,
Kids have all the guns they want and I have other deer rifles I like better. Some one needs to put this gun to use.
