Any markings of who may have built it and/or original markings of receiver origin ? 24 inch or longer barrel?

action stamped with "FN trademark and made in belgium" barrel is 24in made from VCM. serial number for bolt, action and barrel match. According to the historian at browning in Morgan, UT it was manufactured and assembled in the 1950s at the FN Herstal Belgium plant for Browning and is the Hi power predecessor to the more commonly seen browning safari hi power. These actions speak for themselves and has one of the sweetest one stage factory triggers ever produced. You would just have to shoot it to understand.

I appreciate the offers, bumps and general interest. Gonna put this one back in the safe for now as I am well under my initial self agreed selling limit. I think the heft of wood combined with blued barrels has been replaced by synthetic stocks and stainless barrels in our current generation of hunting styles.

    Thanks GCGF... Maybe next time
