I like 308 for all distances I hunt (<300yds), but I typically take my 6.8 when I hunt where there are hogs or if my shots will be inside 150yds.

It's a toss up, all depends on my mood that day and where I'm hunting. My 45-70 or 450 bushmaster for thick stuff or if I'm wanting to really lay the smack down. 308 if it's a little more wide open

30-30 most of the time usually can only see 150-200 yds, most shots much closer, for shots out past that .308 or 30-06.

I am in the mindset of keeping them closer for an easier shot and I'm slowly leaning toward my 458 socom as my all around hog rifle

My 30/30 with 125grn HP hand loads for blackwater, I have another, smaller caliber I like better, they don't run off, its always bang flop, but they do bloody the corn bad. It is my backyard meat getter. Heart/lung shots with the 30/30 results in some running, always. I hate having to track them.Plus the other smaller one is more accurate out to 150yds. No its not a 22, way faster than that.
