I once shut down an entire facility when everyone came over to see what I was shooting. It was a 10.5" HK416 at 900 rpm with a brake on it. The sound was...unique, and I knew it was going to be, so my first shot was about a 15 round burst.

I like to go during the week and usually get a pod to myself.

So my favorite ERGC FUDD story... this happened many years ago. Was on one of the ranges plinking away when I believe it was a lady and her son came out, obviously he was teaching her to shoot. She broke the 180 plane and started to come around a little bit and this FUDD just GOES OFF on her yelling and screaming. I stepped in and said, look dude, obviously this is a new shooter, let's cut her some slack?
He bellows....
"HAVE YOU EVER BEEN SHOT?!?"
To which I calmly replied,
No. Have you?"
He huffed and stormed off.

FUDD: 0, Me and normal shooters, 1.

I shot ARA as well, most of them are really good guys. I can see how they may feel they own the range. They shoot most Saturday mornings until 1200. They don’t own the range though. I have also run into an older fellow that sits around waiting to criticize people as a hobby.

I have been shooting there for 3 years and have very few bad experiences. Great staff.

The asshole really comes to the surface with some folks When they are at the range. It reminds me of the experts that hang around the public boat ramps.
