I appreciate the multi-state effort to stop the use of the tracking code, but also don't believe that will stop gun-tracking agencies from getting whatever they want from credit card companies. They'll just have to use their taxpayer-financed AI, hardware, and software to filter and sift out what they want to find.

Anyone who thinks the Feds don’t or can’t get this data anyway is a fool.
The idea behind these “laws” was always to get the cc providers to be compelled by law to turn over the data. Instead, the Feds will still get the info they want, just not with the help of the (patsy) cc companies.

We live in a constant surveillance state.
