    I'm pretty sure that the only parts that are different are the bolt, barrel, and magazine. Usually an enhanced firing pin is used and stronger springs in the trigger assembly. The enhanced firing pin means that it extends a few hundred thousands of an inch from the bolt face to strike the harder primers a little deeper.

    Well see what you did! I decided to join you with a side charging x39 but got it in a 10.5" barrel to put on my pistol lower. Got the CPD 10 and 20 rd mags, and the Hornady 123SST and Privi 123gr SP, the S&B are out of stock so am gonna try the Privi, they are also brass cased.

    I've only shot mine 27 times using a 5 and 10 round cpd mags from cDNA but I had no problems at all. I read somewhere that the cpd mags figured it out with a low front lip and a different follower. So far so good for me! I hope that your pistol works out well for you! Put some pics up when you get it together. What side charger did you go with?

    It is a forged 7075-T6 A3 AR upper featuring M4 feedramp cuts with a hard coat anodized black finish, MPI Tested Nitride BCG ,Sanders

    I had a 16" before and it was a shooter and handles all the steel ammo just fine...Heck Hornady makes their own 123SST in a steel case, why I have no clue. The Privi and S&B are both brass cased

    Got all ordered today so as soon as it gets here I will post it for you. Thanks

    Does a standard .223/5.56 lower with work with a 7.62x39?

    yes the lowers are the same. When I built mine I just got a stripped lower from Little Jack's and built it from there. The 7.62x39 mags are straight on the receiver end then curve pretty quick.

    It'll be a pussycat.
    My 6.8 . . 10.5" . . with SB15 shoots great. As long as you do not install a muzzle device that is vented to the sides. Mine has a liniar comp on it and I feel no more blast,or noise than I do out of my 18" gun.
    IMO the SB15 or the SBX brace absorbes quite a bit of the recoil impulse also. --- SAWMAN

    Yeah that is what I did,learned from you, put a BRT Covert Comp, says it is low blast, recoil compensation and low light performance not found in other muzzle devices...I have one on a 16" 6.8 and with no holes on the sides directs all the blast downrange. Maybe I will get a suppressor for it?? Thanks

    I don't know anything about the AR pistols. It just seems that a rifle round shot from a pistol would be a handful. At least for the recipient! I'm afraid to try one because I can't afford my current hobbies, let alone another one!

    I will most likely end up building up another AR pistol. It will have a 10.5-12.5" bbl depending on chambering.
    I want something different. NOT - - -> 5.56/223,6.8,X39,no 6.5's.
    Gotta do some research. --- SAWMAN

    The only logical answer is a 7.5" .50 Beowulf.

    . . . . . "comments welcome" . . . . - - -> BURN IT or issue eye bleach to every forum member.
    I mean . . . GOOD LORD . . . why not do it in mellon,or salmon,or taupe,or mango,or . . . ??
    DO NOT put this gun in your safe with other guns. If they get "friendly" after you close the door they all will look like them AR's that the "3 gun" guys use.
