Dan, The new one being built in FWB will be much more advanced and will be allowing many more options. Most of these little indoor ranges for the price offer me nothing, too many restrictions. I am not a paper killer, I run my rifles same time I run my hand guns, I have no interest in burning ammo for no reason shooting holes in paper. Now moving and actually training or competition is another thing. I am sure they are fine for some and I am happy for them to have an ok place to go.

Want to function/test fire or "battle" sight in a rifle that you just put together, such as one that you may have just had Cerakoted? Or any rifle, for that matter?
    Nope...
Want to shoot a big bores?
    Nope...
    50 Beowulf?
That's a tricky one, but... Nope

At least for now, the times to do so will be determined, sometime. According to Chance, big bores will likely be allowed once every other week, and the rifles at some other time. Wonder when and if the 'Wulf would ever be allowed. Hmmm..,

I wanted to sign up before the rate increase, but without the details, I'll have to pass for now.

On the other hand, I just got back from Oak Ridge. Tried out some of my 500 handloads, confirmed zero on my 300blk, and shot about 200 rds through 1911s.
I like to do things on my own schedule, so the new Pawn Shop shooting range may not work for me. YMMV. It should be great at serving a lot of people in the community, just not my specific needs. Best of luck.

    Dante

LOL,Nice My wife texted me the other day when she went down 29 and said.. Did you know theres a shooting range on 29, I said Yup.. Its Expensive and really ya can only shoot pistols... Thats why I go to Oak Ridge..

I have been there while others were shooting their AR and AK platforms (ARs available for rent) as well as shotguns. The long guns are only allowed certain days and times - they are disruptive to others on the range with noise and concussion.

I'm also interested to see whether they got the whole thing together as far as what or when you can shoot, and whether they get to keep and sell all your brass.
However, any new reviewers, be forewarned that anything other than words made of rainbows and sunshine will result in threats of bodily harm from the pawnshop staff.

No rainbows or butterflies... as I understand you cannot pick up brass and when I ask how much it would cost to rent a gun and shoot for the day, "You'd be better off just buying a membership." Umm nah. Of course this is just my account.

thanks for the tips guys !!!
I can stand to waste 38sp brass, I have more than I will ever use.
she just needs to get the feel of her lcr-38sp with my 158gr xtp's thru it....

cost is not an issue as it will be only several visits i'm sure.

i'm really just wanting to know if there is a controlled atmosphere ??

lead sling'n...rapid fire...shoot'um up cowboy or soldier of fortune stuff ain't good for training...NO !!!

attitudes are of interests, along with a good environment.

    thanks again

He may be talking about the rule where when the brass hits the floor it belongs to the range.

from range rules on the website....

    14. All brass, once fired, is considered “lost brass.” Shooters may collect their personal fired brass as long
as they do not disrupt the shooters around them or create a safety hazard.

#13 is the deal-breaker for me...

    13. Be sure you are using the correct ammo for your gun. Only factory produced ammo is allowed to be
used on the range. Hand or privately loaded ammo, tracers, explosive or armor piercing ammunition is
strictly prohibited. Shotguns are allowed with slugs or buckshot only.

I have no desire to be forced to shoot factory ammo.... I've had way more issues with factory ammo than I ever will with my reloads..

I can see their liability risk in people bringing their own loaded ammo. Can't say I blame them. Surely if you get past the emotion of being told no, you can see why. "It's not you, it's everyone around you"

You know what they say "my house, my rules"

Absolutely agree 100%, and you know what I say, "my money, my choice" I'll just go to ERGC or elsewhere..

I usually try and get to an indoor range to group check my hand loads. I may be doing it wrong but I usually run a series of batches through a chrono then get home and crunch the numbers. then make a couple more batches and see how they POA/POI in my weekend club guns. So, not being able to use hand loads (even though I'm loading to "minor) and the whole LOST BRASS issue is a concern. Lost Brass raises my fee no matter how you look at it. Eventually all the brass I "lose" has to be replaced......
