WTK: What revolver these grips fit

Bought these off S&W forum that were supposed to be for Smith K frame round butt. Guy apparently didn’t look at them before advertising. Thinking about modifying them to fit but hate potentially ruining a nice pair of grips but I don’t have gun they were made for.

near as i can tell, they look to be for a J frame square butt. i'm a member over there and have owned and sold plenty of the J fames and grips... pretty sure square butt J frame.

Looked up numbers reads J frame square butt 3". Google numbers on net .

Hey Max if you can send link to the ones you found. I’ve googled and binged the S out of that number but found no matches so far. Guy I got them from said he thought they may be colt grips. Is the square J frame this much bigger? All I have is one round J pistol and some extra grips but no J sq frame at all. Found pics of sq J frames that are rounded on bottom like these grips and some frames that are squared off.

Pulled this one to check and looks like a good fit up top. Looks a little out of place but guess it’s a reason to look for the 3” sq butt J now.
