That's my thought. Back in my Navy days we enlisted assholes did all kind of dumb shit to our officers. Especially us SWCC types. You had to prove you can take a hazing and PT with us before you had the right to lead us into combat.

But to relieve the skipper over that, and replace him with a DEI hire is unacceptable.

You guys have already posted what I was thinking. There are a lot of folks that aren't "gun people" in the military and LE, and it would be completely on-brand to prank someone like that. I would hate to have that be a prank (and it could be he was in on the joke and posted the photo purposefully) and cost him his command.

Even if he was not "gun people" wouldn't you think something was not right when you looked down the scope? He knew enough not to put the muzzle into his shoulder. If he ever used binoculars he would know he's not looking at the correct sight picture.
