Just acquired a M1A (yay!), and now need some ammo. Let me know if you have any wolf, brown bear, etc.

Also if anyone has any M1A mags for sale I'd be interested.

    Thanks
    Ben

    In Pensacola btw

i have to reload to keep up with these. i could never afford to keep buying factory ammo at todays prices. i have had 6 0f these rifles at one time twice. have owned a total of about 25 of these over the years. to me they are the greatest battle rifle ever. if i had to get rid of all my rifles but one i would keep the one in the camo stock.

I'd be interested to see what someone's cost for reloading 308 would be vs. buying off the shelf

the cost all depends on what kind of load you want. match bullets are quite a bit more expensive than plinking bullets.

i use 42 grains if varget powder with commercial brass with 168g sierra matchkings for my match loading.
i use either 41.5g imr 4895 or 42g varget with 147-150g fmjbt bullets for plinking.

168 sierra matchkings about 30 cents each $30.00 per hundred
1 pound of powder about $30.00
    1000 primers about $38.00
i have my own brass so for $98.00 i can load 100 match cartridges and have 900 primers left.

factory gold medal match ammo is about $38.00 for 20 rounds, so 5 times $38.00 is $190.00 for 100 rounds versus $98.00 for match handloads. plinking ammo is even a bigger savings if you can find pulled military bullets.

Anouther thing I found in reloading the 308,,, You can use the 7.62x51 Nato brass... But after light reaming the Mil crimp in the primer pocket. You can load you favorite wieght 168, 180, or ect to your need.. An use 10% less powder per load an still save a little bit more on powder... An I have found that L C brass doesnt stretch the neck an get bulges in head space as quick as WW, REM or comercial brass... But you still have to dedicate that brass to the gun you are reloading for each time you run a batch...
