I just saw one yesterday at South’s Outpost over in Spanish Fort, it had been restored both mechanically and finish. This particular gun was in 32wcf caliber. The asking price for it was $1200.00. Hope this helps.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.I'd buy it this second at $900.

Thanks!Another member here mentioned this company in another post not long ago. They seem to specialize in re bluing. I'd call then and share pics with them and get not only a price to fix it up, but also tell you if it's in fact been re blued. They deal with them so much they can likely give you a rough value of it as is, and after some work. Hope this helps...

Agree 100%You are well into the antique/collectable area with this one, IMO. Provided it has not been "restored" and/or "Bubba'ed," $900 is not unreasonable at all, IMO. Confession: I like old guns and think they should be kept alive as long as possible. It's your $. If I bought that, I'd clean 'er up, add a coat of Johnson's paste wax, and use it as-is, safety of the shooter(s) considered.
Call me old fashioned, but a modern flat/phillips screw, held in place with green felt, and some sort of tape on the bolt, screams "bubba" to me.
Yeah, I need to take a look down the barrel. I didn't have a bore light on me at the time.I agree. That screw was probably forced in there so it will hafta be re-threaded and an original screw won’t fit. If someone would do that, what else did they do?
Not to say don’t buy it but it would need to be a very reasonable price.
