Private companies developing tech is one thing. Personally, Id like to see them sued for using it without notice on their customers, but like most things I don't think that will happen.

Where does the ATF mandate have a need for facial recognition? Fingerprints are bad enough for the NFA registry... I guess Im just barking at the moon on what should and shouldn't exist.

Multiple branches of atf. Some actually investigate crime and others are paperwork enforcement.

    Why?

Shouldn't they refer to local PD or State PD or any other number of branches of federal law enforcement? They are a regulatory agency...

Why does every regulatory agency need their own private police/ military/ enforcement arm?

I’m not an AFT fan but they are more than a regulatory agency they are a law enforcement agency who also regulates.
