Found several possible loads. Shooting 3 shot groups since its a deer rifle and if I miss after the 3rd shot "bambi" should get a free pass.
Here are the latest grips. Waiting on a few boxes of Nosler 100 gr8 BALLISTIC TIPS which is my preferred bullet. Very happy with this rifle. Light and accurate.
Looks like it is working out good for you.

Nosler Ballistic Tips are one of my favorite bullets....I've loaded them for every rifle I have and then some!! LOL!!!

I got my son a Howa Mini in 6.5G.... It's a decent rifle but not the most accurate I've ever seen. Hell, It's actually on the side of the one of the worst I've owned but it is plenty good enough for the Ole' MInute of Deer kinda mentality an he took his first deer with it at 175 yards.
I wouldn't not however buy it again

They are plenty accurate for deer hunting for sure. I've just come to expect smaller groups from my rifles.

Glad to hear your son is enjoying his!!! :)

Sounds like you got a lemon. I have fired every factory round made including all of the original AA loads and never had a group over 2 inches for any of my 3 Ar`s or my latest Ruger Ranch. Most hover around an inch and some have been clover leaf groups. I only make three shot groups from my 16 Ar, and my Ruger. If I miss after three shots its not tne gun or ammo

I agree 6.5G is highly capable. The Howa maybe not so much?

I load for it. I have shot some factory ammo out of it and was unimpressed. I don't remember that brands but I do know wolf was one and it was horrible. Like 6" groups at 100 yards

    I do wish I had acquired a CZ527 in 6.5G before they decided to discontinue the 527's. I have 527's in 7.62x39 and .223.

Have you considered swapping out the plastic trigger guard / mag housing for an an market one made of metal?

Getting better groups could be as simple as getting a proper torque on the action screws.

I have a DIP bottom for the Howa mini I am not going to use.

I opted to install a Jefferson Outdoors bottom metal that allows me to use CZ mags in my Howa. One mag for either 6.5G or 7.62 x 39.
