Just how inexpensive are iron sights at these moderate distances? Perhaps glow in the dark irons are the way to go???? JMHO.
I like irons as much as the next guy, but there's simply no denying the fact that optics offer a huge advantage in pretty much any situation.

Those new folks heading to the front lines are being trained on/with iron sights, Are you saying they are being handicapped? Or are you admitting that you might have a failing??????

Lol. I didn’t say either of those things - I said optics offer an advantage in pretty much any given situation. Is this one of your “real men don’t need x” anecdotes again?

No, it's one of those costs to advantages situations. Why is it that all real world weapons of war have BUIS? When your in a situation that causes your optic to fail, (and they all will eventually) better know how to use those irons. JMHO.

PS real men use blades, they never run out of ammo. LOL.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underwater_Demolition_Team (but that is only for those folks that attended the South East Asia War Games armed only with MK2's) ?????

In naval service, the knife was used as a diving and utility knife from late 1943 onward, though the stacked leather handle tended to rot and disintegrate rapidly in saltwater.

They TRIED to issue me a K-Bar when we were on a prisioner handling exercise out of Indio, Ca.
There were whole piles of them in a "cruise box". I took three and gave two away.
By the time that we got to SE Asia my Randall had caught up with me. My "boss",a crusty old Master Chief would not allow us to carry a K-Bar. It was three or 4 different models of Randalls or a Gerber MK-1.
This was my choice - ->

I love my Aimpoint PROs... got a couple. Long battery life, proven durability, reasonable price.
