I loaded several boxes of 150gr Hornady SST and I really like them.

What .30cal bullet do you prefer to load?

I like the Barnes 180 gr. triple shock HP, they are very easy to seal the bullet for wet weather.

180gr Barnes X Great B.C. Loaded them in .300 WHBY and M14SA. Super Elk medicine. Neither of these were loaded to max powder charge as I found accuracy suffers. Full expansion on every bullet recovered and most were against the hide on the opposite side.
Followed by the Swift A-Frame. Then Nosler Partition
Hornady ballistic tips were almost as accurate as the Barnes X, but destroy hide (thick skinned game) on entry side (6 in Dia) and fragment through surrounding area. They are truly Ballistic! Split a coyote in 3rds (middle third missing) with one loaded in 30.06.

For my .30-378Wby Mag used for super long range,I load the 220gr SMK's. For my Ruger M77 MKII Compact it is the 125gr NosBalTip's loaded to a modest 3000fps. There are tons of great .308" bullets out there. For both hunting and paper punchin'. --- SAWMAN

150 is plenty of bullet for any deer. The only thing gained with heavier bullets for white tail, or even mule deer is added recoil.

All of the SSTs are great bullets though.

agreed the 150 is a good bullet but in my DPMS LR10 the 150s are not as accurate as the 165 168 match kings so im thinking one might need to try a
