Did another. Easy as eating pancakes. For the weight watchers--- carbine stock with tube and nut 13.1 oz , a2 stock with tube 16.1 oz. Also 3oz buffer vs 5.3 oz buffer. Lighter is always better.

** note easy to get the correct length, install the short spacer, slide it down the tube till you can just see the edge of the first hole. Mark thru the screw hole, remove and file the slot. ***

Looks like its not boogered up so you could go back to a collapsable stock if needed. Good job

Yep. Thanks. Just slide it off and slide the collapsible stock back on. Might show at the fully extended position. I'll have to check and see. With the short cap installed it looks factory.

Loaded up a small batch of .223

I made a small mistake on the first 100 rounds and didn't notice the mistake. Had to pull apart those 100 rounds and resize the brass.

I didn't set the die correctly and it slightly bulged the shoulder of the brass. I hate making mistakes!

When I start a reloading process, after I prep only one piece of brass,I gently insert it into the chamber and gently close the action to check the brass demensions. This . . on a single, bolt,or AR. All my brass is separated by which gun it goes in also.
Then after I seat the bullet I try it in the chamber again. Then load the rest of the batch.
IMO if you just shoot them,it will alter the brass demensions and over work the brass. Also,if they require an extra effort to chamber it could be putting undue stresses on your firearm. (carrier,bolt,extractor,ejector,charging/bolt handle, chamber wear, accuracy ??)---- SAWMAN

Just shoot them, they will fire form out!!!

They wouldn't chamber well at all. It was a mistake and I've already pulled them and reloaded them after running them through the re-sizing die again. I had spot checked all the case lengths too. They were once fired brass that I had purchased some time ago. Some ended up being longer than they should and made the shoulder bulge even more on those rounds. Ended up trimming all to a set length and going from there.

Seems like I learn something new every time I go to load a batch of ammo. I'm fairly new to reloading. Sucks messing up a good bit of rounds. Luckily this mistake was correctable and I didn't need to waste components. Wasting components during this lack of availability is not something I want to be doing.

Round on the left was one of the bad ones

Today's project was sight in my Swedish M96/38 with my cast bullet load. Asked a friend to bring his Swedish armorer front sight adjustment tool. One partial turn of the windage adjuster knob and the Swede was now sighted in. Ta Da! Spent the rest of the range day shooting cans and bits of clay pigeons and then reloaded the 50 rounds shot when I got home.

Brought a 223 barrel back to life on one of my bolt guns. It had a nasty carbon ring from lack of cleaning, probably 1500 rounds without. A little bit of maintenance goes along way. Or in this case a lot of maintenance
