Saw the video, and I'll say that I wasn't there of course, but I didn't see the homeless man do anything that would have made me fire my weapon. Heck, I don't think I would have even had it drawn at that point.

I understand that law enforcement might be a difficult job. But if we can't hold police officers to the minimum standards of the military (the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the Law Of Armed Conflict) then we need to remove the military training, and the military equipment, from their playbook.

An investigation by the U.S. Justice Department found that since 2010, over 20 civilians had died in altercations with Albuquerque police officers due to excessive force.

Lets see:

(365*4)/20 = 73 days/excessive force death. Roughtly one every two months.



Plus, however many died from "non-excessive" force.
