IMO, the mentally sound/law-abiding do not need to be regulated. That applies to everything from food likes/dislikes to firearms ownership, IMO. If our government, and their agents, can't trust those to do what's right, more regulation is just persecution/punishment for doing what's right. Yeah, that'll work...

How about we let people make their own choices, they live with the outcome, and we only punish what causes harm/loss due to bad actions/decisions? Kinda sounds like Liberty. We have a fort named Liberty now...

Life is too easy in America.
The vast majority (99%) of people have never felt true want or hunger, have never gone without power or water for more than a day, have never felt true fear for their life or loved ones. Hell most of these commies have never even been out of the US much less to a former soviet block country.
This kind of sheltered lifestyle along with the failing economy and growing wealth of corporate America have created a portion of society that NEED to feel special and different. They NEED to act out, irrationally or not. They NEED to be the center of attention.

My time active duty made me appreciate the luxuries we have here. Cold camping in deserts, jungles and forests and sleeping in ship's berthing wasn't a pleasant experience but it toughened me up.
