I bought this probably 30 years ago and used to wear it while putting up tree stands or trimming roads at the camp.
Don’t have much use for it anymore so I’m letting it go.
I believe it was manufactured in the 1946 - 1948 time frame.
I’m in Pace but will be in Navarre this weekend. I’ll take it with me in case someone over that way is interested.

You're correct in your time frame . S prefix postwar M&P pre model 10 . In pics it appears that trigger & hammer are also nickle plated . If so gun has been refinished as they came color case hardened from factory . GLWS

I believe it has been refinished in nickle which would mean it was originally blue.
Good shooter and a useful gun to have but very little (if any) collector value.
