maybe as a backup,,why the punch going so slow?
I think they rate the Punch out of like a 2" barrel or something, since it's intended as a pistol defense round. Put it in a rifle and you'll see something : )

EDIT: I didn't see the Punch pic above until after I replied, so, yeah... 2", whereas most .22 is probably rated out of a 16" or so : )

I was using an old skillet as a gong. Regular .22Lr was denting it, when I used the Federal Punch, it "punched" right through.
Impressed with the punch, haven't tried the Winchester self defense loads yet.
    With what barrel length?

This subject was just covered. Interesting video.

I carry an LCP in .380 since I can't find 32 acp at all anymore.

The Silvertip shoots good but very smoky and dirty. I have to use the high velocity in my p17 because I added the Romeo zero. The punch cycles it though. I really need to pop some critters to see how they stack up.

Just make sure you use good ammo. Rimfire ammo misfires far more frequently than centerfire ammo, particularly the cheap stuff. My theory on calibers for CCW goes like this. Want to stop a bad guy? Put a bullet in him. Any bullet, anywhere.
