Those idiots do not even know what a rifle is. They should first off know, that is configured as a pistol, not a rifle. Secondly, they should know that is not an "assault rifle" as it is only a semi-automatic AR pistol. It is amazing as to how ignorant and down-right stupid the media really is when it comes to many things, especially firearms.

Additionally, the guy who was trying to get this through was pretty stupid to put that waffle stock in there with it. If the ATF wanted, they could charge him with intent to build an illegal SBR by merely having that stock with an AR pistol with a short barreled upper attached. Not too smart. I would want to know why he was flying with the firearm and that much ammo in a carry-on bag. Again, that was stupid. There are regulations that define how firearms and ammunition are to be packaged, secured, and declared when flying. If he only gets fined $15K, he will get off easy. Regardless of the fact that firearms' laws are unconstitutional, they are there until they get changed or repealed. Until then, firearms' owners need to be responsible and know the laws and regulations, especially when traveling on commercial carriers.
