looking at buying a acog (for really cheap)from a guy and i tried looking up the s/n on trijicons website but it told me that they couldn't find it and to call. before i call tomorrow i was wondering if any of you guys have come across any milsurp optics. he claims it was a government optic at one time so he doesn't have a box or paperwork. Ive checked on a few other forums and most of what im hearing is that most if not all acogs from the military have "fallen off trucks" Anybody have any experience in this matter?

Likely BS. But government property is always government property.

I bought one from someone who used it in Afghanistan - but it was given to him from a Trijicon Rep after his government issue one was broken - so it was not government property.

I did lookup the ssn and it showed not us property.

If you buy that one for "really cheap" I have some left handed cigarettes on sale also. :)

    I would pass on it.

If it seems too good to be true, probably is...

And if it's USG property, Trijicon will keep it if / when you have to send it in for new tritium, etc.
this right here... far to many fakes and stolen ones out there.

I remember a dude had a stand set up at a show a year or two ago with a BUNCH of salty ACOGs. I think he said they were surplus'ed National Guard equipment? They were the real deal though. Wonder if National Guard stuff works different than USGI?
