Wondering if anyone ever kills an antlered doe down here. I had two different sports kill one during my time up there.
At one point, early on,they changed the wording in the law books from doe and buck to antlered and anterless deer.
Both of the ones my sports killed were about 180lbs gutted. They were within 2 miles of each other. I ended up getting a call from a DIFW biologist.--- SAWMAN

BOOM!!!! Just a doe, but I'll take it!! Battle Rifle C308 shooting 308 tul 165gr sp. (Steel case) +/- 80 yards. Didnt weigh her guessing +130? Followed the generous blood trail for about 60 yards. Right into the thickest patch of crap. Who says "assault rifles" arnt used for hunting! Using the atheon 3x prism. Used the lighted red reticle the lowest setting with the larger tube it works great in low light.

Thinking about getting a 28" Pro Hunter bbl chambered in 243Win for my Encore . . . JUST to see what it is capeable of in the vel dept. I believe that they are 9 or 10 twist which would be good for me for the hyper vels that I would try for.
Could even mod some 55/58grainers down about another 5-8grs or so. Being 28 inches it would be interesting to see how the heavy weight (100gr+) VLD bullets would shoot and at what speeds. ---- SAWMAN
I want to build an LAR10 in .243 or 7mm-08.

Good find! I found a 20 something ounce framing hammer in the middle of Hwy 90 a few days ago. Everybody watch out, you never know
