I have one that I bought in the mid eighties. Still good and tight. No rattles.
I would try the blue loctite first. Then send it back to Taurus if that doesn't help.

The "Thumbpiece" (cyclinder release) and the "Bolt" it screws into: both have raised areas that ride in the channel (slot) and shoulder against each other. There have been some changes and model differences in these parts. Simply installing a mixed /old/out of spec part from the bins could cause the issue. The Thumbpiece Screw attaches these parts together. They will not seat against each other properly and hold torque if there is crud/manufacturing debris between them or in the threads of the parts OR if the threads of either part are partially stripped or miss matched.

    1. With a proper driver, remove the Thumbpiece Screw. Clean Thumbpiece, its Screw, mating surfaces and threads. Inspect for defect.
Thread Thumbpiece Screw into Bolt WITHOUT Thumbpiece in place, with just finger pressure:
    A. Check that the underside of the Screw CAN screw in deep enough that it could bind the two parts against each other. You'll just need to eyeball it but it should be obvious that the Screw can go deeper than the recess in the Thumbpiece.
    B. Check the Screw for "wobble/sloppy threads" with light pressure on the Screw and not shifting the Bolt. Remove screw.
    2. Position the Thumbpiece in the Channel and seated against the Bolt: Do the holes line up with the Thumbpiece and Bolt mated together and flush?
    3. If all is good to this point: reassemble with DRY threads, tighten firmly but don't overtighten.
    4. Check function. Test firing several full cyclinders while checking tightness incrementally to see if it has backed off.
If it backs off again, Call Taurus on the problem, (get a Name) "ask" if they will let you apply Locktite (Grade?) Without voiding the Warranty or Ship it to them for repair.

    Good luck, keep us posted.
