I own a couple of lugers and love shooting them but I hate the sights. just wondering if anybody here has had any experience with customized ludger's with modern sites longer barrels. This is not from a collector point of view this is strictly from a Shooter's point of view thanks for any input

There was a Rascal back in the 60s, John Dewey. He customized lugers into target shooters.. He had his own barrels with better front and rear sights. So an ideal, you can look for some of his guns or try to find a gunsmith that will duplicate his changes.

So had been doing some reading on these and from everything I saw people seemed very happy with these customs and Mr Dewey did great work. Here is a really neat variation on one of his barrels.

It does seem like a fun custom. Ha HA, do not know how smart it would be to do now.. Makes one wonder if anyone has tried to convert them back to original condition.
