yea the tapco are pretty much crap

NEVER buy them for the AK platform, THE worst mag i have ever used in a "choppa" needs to be fitted, tabs are plastic and wear down with a few insertions....for the AR not so much but the K mags are trash

I picked up a few of the Tapcos --just for the heck of it...figured if a fellow GCGF member was in need of a mag, I would share one with him. They actually lookto be improved from what I've seen before. Followers looked decent, it almost appears that they are trying to come up to Magpul's level -- to include the packaging. I wouldn't buy the ProMags though -- never seen one for any firearm that worked reliably yet.
