Surefire RC & RC2

Happy New Years everyone,

i was wondering if anyone has both the RC1 and RC2? I’m trying to see if there is any real difference between the two. I’ve done all the reading and know the only real difference it’s the new baffle designs and end cap...resulting with a little better flash signature and slight decimal rating with the RC2.

I’m thinking of getting the RC1 since I can get it almost $300 cheaper. I would like to hear anyone’s thoughts if you have experience with both.

I can't help with any comparison between the two but got my RC2 at the end of November. Shot it for the first time two weeks ago and I am very happy with it. 11.5 sir and the sound reduction was more than I expected. Very pleased with it.

Nice JLT. How long did it take to get approved (e-file, trust etc)?

I went ahead and got a Surefire Socom300 SPS a couple of weeks ago and now wanting to get a dedicated 556 can for my 11.5 as well

My approval time was a little over 5 months. I went through silencershop and did the individual route since the times were shorter vs a trust. Hope you get yours back quick, the 5 months felt like 12.

Yeah went e-file/trust through silencer shop. Based what I hear, I’m hoping I can get it by next Sept/Oct hopefully. I’m sure it will feel like eternity since I can be impatient

how is the back pressure on your setup, is it a DI or piston?

I ran it on my solgw DI 11.5 sbr with A5 buffer. My ejection went from 4-5 o'clock to 3. Zero issues with Federal 55 gr. It ran very smooth and not over gassed.

Looking at old messages did you ever find that LE Restricted 6920?

No, never got one. I ended up just getting another KAC ambi lower to use in its place for my MK12 mod 1 build. I figured in the future I can use that lower on a KAC 14.5 or LPR.

RC is slightly shorter and a tiny bit quieter than RC2. Baffle design and end cap is a little bit different. RC2 is a little bit cheaper and easier to manufacture than the RC. That's about it.
