I haven't ever done an eForm before but supposedly ATF reviews them and approves them within something like 2-5 business days and notifies you so you can complete paperwork with the dealer (my understanding). It's now been two weeks and nothing. The guys at the shop were surprised it's taken this long. New normal?

Think you're misunderstanding or missing parts of the entire process. "Normal" for an e-form 4 is well over two weeks at this point.

Thank you. Yes, I haven't done eForms before so I can only go by what the dealer said, which was a few business days. Has this recently increased significantly?

If you go back a few pages you'll be able to see what wait times are looking like.. Also look at nfatracker.com

    Day 329 on a paper F4
It's not the "4-11 month" thing. This is "supposedly" the initial approval which thing initiates the FFL to do some joint paperwork with me. The whole thing is a mystery to me. I'm using Silencer Shop.com and Grey Man.

That's a little different. SS will have to prep the form then you and Grey Man will "certify" ....then it gets submitted............then you start the wait for the approval.

You are talking about the Form 3 and the certifying process. Yeah you will go to Greyman or SS to purchase your can. Once you pay for the can and the tax stamp there will be about a 3-10 day wait for the email to certify to come in. It can be quicker or longer but 10 days is what I experienced. My can was purchased in store with Greyman and I used the kiosk there. Save yourself some time and create your eforms and SS accounts at home on a computer first then start the process. Once you certify itll be 120+ day wait. My last can came back in 165 days to give you an idea on the timeframe.

If you are military with orders you can get the whole approval process done within a week.

It ended up being 11 business days before I got the email for the Form 4 certification.

Just got my first e-form 4 approval back from ATF. 267 days from purchase and 237 days from tax stamp "cashed". So much for the 90 days the ATF was promoting. Have my second e=form 4 at 63 days. Let's see if the ATF gets close to the 90 days.

Thanks Z. I’m at about 230 days if I remember. Doesn’t look like like I’m going to have it for hunting season. I started back in January with a Form 1 build. That got denied. Then a purchase and a Form 4e.

My form 4 was submitted 8/5, still waiting Bueller… Bueller..

Guess the 90 day turnaround was only temporary

Hi, my names Vito. I’ve been waiting since Memorial Day of this year. Sadly, I know I’ll be here quite often, even after this stamp clears…a lot of people like to use the A to describe my relationship, but I call it a love affair.
