Hey guys I was hoping some of you more knowledgeable than I on the IDPA Regulations good help me out. After reading the IDPA Manual last night I'm a little fuzzy on what I can and can’t do to my SSP gun. Is it legal to put an after market slide release and mag release on my Glock so that I have more real-estate for my thumb? In the general allowed modification section it seemed so as long as they did not stick out past a certain length but in the SSP allowed section it sounded like I could only drop in other Glock OEM parts for those two areas. Help!

Correct, IIRC you can only install Glock OEM parts to stay in SSP. However, you can use any Glock parts that come standard on other models. For instance, you can use a Glock extended slide stop and mag release, because they come factory on the Glock 34/35.

I haven't looked at the rules in a while, but that's what my memory is telling me.

Yea, thats how I read it as well. I could drop in parts from other models to achieve what I was looking for. Thanks Jeep. Are all parts like that that on Glocks interchangeable for the most part?

A lot of parts are interchangeable between models. The biggest thing you have to look for is some parts are different for the smaller frame (9mm, .40, 357 Sig) vs the large frame (45ACP, 10mm). Also, the Gen 4 parts are sometimes different from Gens 1-3. If you find a part from the same size frame and the same generation as your gun, chances are it will fit.
