    Federal champion red box.
These are older but stored in GI surplus ammo cans.
Pulled some out and noticed the spots.
Then I went back further into some newer ammo squired at a later date and it has the spots. Checked other brand ammo and none are like this.
It's almost like colorfill but I'm not sure.
Odd that only this particular ammo is showing tarnish. Everything I have is stored in same spot in similar cans.

I'll fire it all day I'm just wondering what the spots are. Almost appears to be factory. Nothing that looks like this would "grow" on the case, imo.

The cartridges are ok, that is very, very minor as far as cartridge corrosion goes. Wipe them with a clean dry wool cloth. If it bothers you, they can be moved up in rotation to be fired "next". If they are going to sit for an extended time, monitor for continued degradation. The rim and base areas of cases are thick and that light surface stuff will not affect function. The "Spots" could be symptoms of a different poblem: GI cans are great but you need to make sure the seal is good. Cardboard/packing material can hold moisture. Some Silica packets can draw and hold moisture to themelves and away from what you want to protect, though I haven't seen a requirement to use them in my cans. When you live in a high humidity area, you seal that high humidity in the can.

Second what wildrider said, some spotty finish that has allowed surface corrosion. I'd just use them first on the next range trip. Or sell em for $2/rd, whichever...haha

Might help to store it under very dry conditions if that is not already the case. I purchased some german surplus ammo in 20 round cartons that has minor blemishes. I read that moisture on the paper likely reacted to cause the blemishes.
