I do not doubt these would still be effective on today's modern battlefield. My favorite is on the left. Been looking at all the wiz bang new knives and just can't seem to replace these.

I always liked the old made in USA Gerber Mark 1's! When I was aircrew on helicopters most of us carried Gerber Guardian boot knives clipped to our flight boots along with the Camillus USAF Survival knife that was mounted on our survival vest next to the PRC-90.
