Hand held scope: edge of eye piece to corner of eye with index finger ~ 3 inch gives full field of view with min black around edge. Close the distance to 2 3/4 - 2 1/2 inch better.
Can mound on AR tomorrow for accurate measure or I'll give a return on it for you to try as long as no mars, scratches and not take to range and fired.
