Hi guys. Grabbed a new unissued stock to repair my dad's bubba'ed Yugo. Fit is great, except for the cross recoil lug. I can't reassemble the rifle with it installed, but fit is PERFECT with it removed. Any tips on fitting it? I definitely want the lug because I want to fling some rifle grenades with her. Cheers!

Yugo receivers have different dimensions and will only fit a yugo stock. I'd venture to say you don't have a yugo stock... or maybe a stock made for some other Yugo model than a 59/66? I know of at least two other yugo SKS models.

I have seen it on the internet where other people had to hand fit it by filing it in half to get a non-yugo stock to fit a yugo receiver

    Yes what @Raven Said
I've had to fit a few using a few small files or Dremel and then make the counter sunk circle bigger and add a black washer on either side to fill the over sized hole.

Just an update! Appreciate the replies. With minimal fitting, the upper handguard and stock fit perfectly. Need to remove a little material where the trigger guard locks in as its currently blocking the safety. Been filing the recoil lug slowly and its *almost* there. I put it into a C-clamp so I could get a nice angle on it and not tear up my hand.

The set is currently missing a few bits. It needs a pin for the stock along the bayonet channel, and it doesn't have a spring for the trigger group to pop out.

I ordered the stock from a little company called AKOptions.com. Waiting for their reply on the missing parts, but they're otherwise a cool little outfit with some neat stuff.

Not knowing these rifles im just guessing here. But…
Wouldnt it be better to file the stock being as its already not original vs filing an original part to the gun risking damage to the part?
Not even sure if it could be fitted that way but just a thought

No filing is being done on the gun. I'm not sure if I'm using the right name, but it's the metal bolt that runs through the centre of the stock.
