Shooting the SA A1 yesterday...brass was being thrown at the 4-5 o'clock position, yet the brass was getting pinched, everyone out of two mags. Shooting 230 gr. Hornady jhp with 7.3 gr. of powder. My question is should I look at the ammo or the gun or can it be control of the recoil? Appreciate the opinions:pop2::

I have an 18 and 1/2 pound recoil spring in my Springfield Armory 1911 and have no problems at all. The ejection port is stock. Not scalloped/flared or lowered.Might try a heaver recoil spring.
