Ladies and Gentleman, am I correct that if you sight in a scope at 16x magnification at 100 yards the crosshairs will shoot the same spot at a lower magnification? I noticed with my sun glare experiments this past weekend at 16x zoom at 180 yards my solution of the sunshade and ARD to reduce glare it was better if I turned down the scope to 10x or 9x magnification.

So again, if my gun is zeroed in at 100 yards at 16x will the cross hairs still be zeroed in at 100 yards if I reduce the magnification to 10x or 9x and shoot?

Additional information: I'm talking about a Nikon M-308 Scope

Short answer, yes. With a quality scope and everything else being equal, if you sighted in your rifle at 100yds on 16x, the crosshairs should be zeroed at 100yds on 5X, 10X, etc.

Thanks Jeep, that was my understanding too and I just wanted to confirm it with people who probably have more experience with it then I do. I do know the points of the BDC reticle will change but I can get those numbers from the Nikon Spot On app, it allows you to change the magnification and see what the yardage changes to on the BDC points. Thanks again!
